1. Café
A café is an establishment where drinks and often light food or snacks are served to customers. Cafés may be located in towns, service areas, tourist destinations or other places where travellers can stop for refreshments.
Cafés and similar refreshment facilities may be indicated by service, tourist or direction signs. The symbols and terminology used vary between countries.
Which Belgian road sign can indicate a café?
The Belgian F69 information sign indicates a drinking or refreshment establishment and can therefore be used to indicate facilities such as cafés.
Is the Belgian café sign the same as the restaurant sign?
No. Belgium distinguishes between the F69 sign for a drinking or refreshment establishment and the F67 sign for a restaurant.
Does the F69 sign impose a traffic rule in Belgium?
No. The F69 sign provides information about an available facility. It does not impose a prohibition, obligation or priority rule.
