相乗りは、同じ方向へ移動する複数人が1台の車で一緒に移動することです。費用を分担する場合も、単に同じ経路の車両数を減らすため一緒に移動する場合もあります。
通勤、通学、長距離移動などでよく利用されます。道路網によっては集合して1台へ乗り換える専用相乗り駐車場があります。
