双方向交通は、同じ道路または車道で車両が反対方向へ走行できる状態です。対向交通は路面標示、中央分離帯で分けられる場合も、狭い道路では物理的な分離がない場合もあります。
双方向道路では、運転者は現地交通規則で定められた側を走行し、対向車に注意し、追い越し、右左折、狭い区間の通過時に特に注意します。
