18. Speed-Pedelec
Ein Speed-Pedelec ist ein schnelles elektrisch unterstütztes Fahrrad, dessen Motor die Tretunterstützung über die gewöhnliche Unterstützungsgrenze von Elektrofahrrädern hinaus fortsetzen kann, typischerweise bis ungefähr 45 km/h. Es besitzt Pedale und ist in erster Linie dafür ausgelegt, den Fahrer beim Treten zu unterstützen.
Wegen seiner höheren Geschwindigkeit kann ein Speed-Pedelec rechtlich anders behandelt werden als ein gewöhnliches Fahrrad oder Elektrofahrrad. Je nach Land können besondere Vorschriften zu Mindestalter, Führerschein, Helm, Zulassung, Versicherung, Radwegnutzung und zulässigen Straßen gelten.
