1. Distance board
A distance board is a road sign that indicates the remaining distance to one or more destinations, such as towns, cities, junctions, services or important facilities. It helps drivers estimate how far they still need to travel and can form part of a wider direction-signing system.
Distances are usually displayed together with destination names, route numbers or directional information. The units, colours, layouts and types of destinations shown vary between countries.
Where are distance boards commonly used?
They are commonly used on motorways, major roads and other important routes to help drivers judge the remaining distance to destinations along their journey.
