Separated pathGreece
1. Separated path
A separated path is a path or part of a road where different categories of road users, typically pedestrians and cyclists, are assigned separate sections of the same overall route. The sections may be distinguished by road markings, different paving materials, a kerb or another physical separation.
Users should remain within the part of the path intended for them and take particular care where the sections cross, merge or connect with roads. The permitted users, priority rules and any speed restrictions depend on the local traffic signs and regulations.
How does Greece sign a path with separate sections for different users?
The Road Traffic Code provides a sign whose user symbols identify separately allocated sides of a route. Each depicted category must use its assigned side. Read the symbol positions instead of assuming that pedestrians are always on the same side.

May Greek cyclists use the pedestrian side of a divided path as an extra lane?
No. The divided-path sign requires each user category to use the side selected for it. A clear walking section does not alter that assignment. Use the cycling section and respect the controls at accesses and crossings.

How is a Greek divided-path sign different from a shared-path sign?
The divided sign assigns a side to each category. The shared-route sign instead permits the depicted categories to use the special route at the same time. The presence of pedestrian and bicycle symbols alone is not enough to identify which arrangement applies.
