1. Equestrian trail
An equestrian trail is a designated route intended primarily for horse riders. It may follow forest paths, rural tracks, bridleways or other routes where horseback riding is permitted or encouraged.
Equestrian trails may be identified by horse-rider symbols, direction markers or route signs. Other road users using or crossing the trail should take particular care around horses and avoid actions that could frighten them.

The Belgian D13 sign indicates a mandatory route for horse riders.
Can Belgium have roads reserved for horse riders and other non-motorised users?
Yes. F99-series signs can indicate roads or parts of roads reserved for specified categories such as pedestrians, cyclists, riders and speed-pedelec users.
Can riders use the full width of a Belgian reserved road?
Yes. On roads covered by the applicable F99 reserved-road rules, riders and the other authorised categories may use the entire width of the road, subject to the applicable traffic rules.
