Una salida de emergencia es una vía de evacuación señalizada que permite a los usuarios abandonar un túnel u otra instalación de tráfico cerrada durante un incidente grave como un incendio, presencia de humo u otra emergencia. Las salidas conducen hacia una zona más segura separada del peligro inmediato.
En una emergencia, los ocupantes deben abandonar el vehículo cuando sea necesario evacuar y seguir las señales e instrucciones de salida. Deben alejarse del peligro en lugar de permanecer dentro del túnel o regresar al vehículo.
