What can count as a parking violation in Belgium?
Examples include parking on a pavement or cycle path where prohibited, parking too close to a crossing, blocking an entrance or passage, ignoring a parking prohibition or using a reserved parking space without being entitled to it.
Are all Belgian parking violations equally serious?
No. The seriousness depends on the offence. Parking that creates a particular danger, such as parking on certain crossings or cycle facilities, can fall into a higher offence category than less dangerous parking violations.
Can Belgian parking rules include payment or time restrictions?
