1. 停止線
停止線は、交通標識、信号機、その他の交通制御により停止が求められる場合に、車両が停止すべき位置を示す横方向の路面標示です。通常、交差点、横断歩道、踏切、その他停止が必要となる場所の手前に設けられます。
停止が必要な場合、運転者は停止線の手前で停止し、車両の一部が停止線の先の区域を塞がないようにします。停止線の外観と正確な法的意味は国によって異なります。
