1. Rumble strip
A rumble strip is a series of small, raised bumps or grooves on the road that create vibration and noise when a vehicle drives over them. They’re designed to alert drivers that they’re leaving their lane or approaching something important. They reduce accidents caused by drowsy or inattentive driving.
- Road edges or centerlines (to prevent lane drifting).
- Before intersections or stop signs.
- Approaching toll booths or sharp curves.
- Work zones or school zones.
