1. First aid
First aid is the immediate care given to a person who is injured or suddenly becomes ill, before professional medical help is available. In serious situations, call emergency services immediately (like 911, 112, or your country’s emergency number).
- Bleeding - Apply pressure to stop bleeding, use a clean bandage.
- Burns - Cool the area with water, cover with a sterile dressing.
- Choking - Use back blows and abdominal thrusts (Heimlich maneuver).
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) - Chest compressions + rescue breaths for someone not breathing.
- Shock - Lay the person down, keep them warm, call for help.
- Fractures/sprains - Immobilize the area, use ice, and seek medical help.
