1. First aid

First aid is the immediate care given to a person who is injured or suddenly becomes ill, before professional medical help is available. In serious situations, call emergency services immediately (like 911, 112, or your country’s emergency number).

  • Bleeding - Apply pressure to stop bleeding, use a clean bandage.
  • Burns - Cool the area with water, cover with a sterile dressing.
  • Choking - Use back blows and abdominal thrusts (Heimlich maneuver).
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) - Chest compressions + rescue breaths for someone not breathing.
  • Shock - Lay the person down, keep them warm, call for help.
  • Fractures/sprains - Immobilize the area, use ice, and seek medical help.
