What is a blind summit?

A blind summit is the crest of a hill where the driver's view of the road beyond the summit is restricted.

Why is a blind summit dangerous?

Vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, bends or obstacles may be hidden beyond the crest, leaving drivers less time to react.

Should you overtake near a blind summit?

Generally, no when visibility is insufficient. Drivers should avoid entering the path of opposing traffic unless they have a clear view and overtaking is permitted by the applicable traffic rules.
