自動車は、モーターを備え、自らの動力で走行するよう設計された車両です。乗用車、オートバイ、バス、トラック、一部のモペッドなど多くの区分があります。
適用される交通規則は車両区分、重量、寸法、出力、設計最高速度によります。登録、保険、免許、道路進入要件も車種により異なります。
