警察は、法律の執行、公共安全、道路交通へ影響する状況の管理を担う公的機関です。交通では車両検査、交通取締、事故調査、交通整理、緊急対応などを行います。

道路利用者は警察官など権限を持つ交通整理員の適法な指示に従います。現地法により、警察の指示は一時的に信号、道路標識、通常の交通配置より優先する場合があります。

Police help enforce traffic laws, manage traffic, investigate collisions and respond to dangerous situations. They may also carry out roadside checks and direct road users.

Follow the local rules for priority vehicles. Drivers generally have to make sufficient space, give way and stop where necessary so that the emergency vehicle can pass safely.
