1. 長さ制限
長さ制限は、指定された最大長を超える車両または車両組合せの道路や区域への進入を禁止する規制です。国の規則で定められている場合、表示された長さには通常、車両組合せ全体と積荷が含まれます。
長い車両が狭い道路、急カーブ、橋、トンネルなどを安全に通行できない場所で使われます。表示された制限を超える車両は、別の通行可能な経路を使用しなければなりません。
What does a vehicle length limit mean?
A length limit indicates the maximum vehicle or vehicle-combination length permitted beyond the restriction. Vehicles exceeding the displayed value may not proceed.
Does a length limit include a trailer?
Normally the relevant measurement applies to the complete vehicle or vehicle combination covered by the sign. National rules determine precisely how trailers and projecting loads are included.
Why are vehicle length limits used?
They are used where long vehicles could have difficulty negotiating the road safely, such as on narrow streets, tight bends, constrained junctions or other locations with limited manoeuvring space.
