案内標識は、規制や警告を課すのではなく、道路利用者へ有用な案内・説明を提供する交通標識です。駐車区域、方向、施設、道路配置、市街地の開始・終了などを知らせます。明確で実用的な情報を提供し、運転者が迷わず移動できるようにして、方向把握、快適性、交通流を改善します。
1. 高速道路開始。
この標識は高速道路の開始を示します。ここから、進入できる道路利用者、停車、後退、その他の運転操作などに関する高速道路特有の規則が適用されます。速度制限、車線規則、現地の高速道路規則に従ってください。

2. 高速道路終了。
この標識は高速道路の終了を示します。高速道路特有の規則はここで終了します。前方の道路に適用される速度制限、通行規則、その他の標識に従ってください。

3. 行き止まり。
この標識は行き止まりを示します。車両が通り抜けられる経路はありませんが、道路沿いの施設やその他の目的地には到達できる場合があります。

4. ランプの行先。
この標識はランプを通って到達する目的地の案内を示します。表示された目的地は、そのランプがどこへ通じるかを示します。
