1. Parallel parking
Parallel parking is a method of parking where you position your vehicle parallel to the curb, in line with other parked cars, usually on the side of a street.
- Find a space that's at least 1.5 times your car length.
- Signal and stop next to the front car, leaving about 1 meter (3 feet) between.
- Reverse slowly, turning your wheel toward the curb.
- When your back wheel is near the curb, straighten the wheel and continue reversing.
- Turn the wheel away from the curb to align with the car in front.
- Adjust your position so you're centered in the space and close to the curb (about 15–30 cm or 6–12 inches away).
