1. Saliva test

A saliva test (also called an oral fluid drug test) is a quick roadside screening method used by police to detect drugs in a driver’s system. It's commonly used during traffic stops or random roadside checks to enforce drug-driving laws. Most saliva tests screen for common impairing drugs such as: Cannabis (THC), Cocaine, Methamphetamine / Amphetamines, Ecstasy (MDMA), Benzodiazepines (in some regions), Opioids (in some cases).

  • How a Saliva Test Works:
    • A swab or test stick is placed inside your mouth (usually under your tongue or along the gum line).
    • It collects a small amount of saliva.
    • The sample is tested immediately for the presence of certain drugs.
    • If the result is positive, a second test may be taken for lab confirmation.
