72. オートバイ装備

オートバイ装備には、運転者・同乗者が使う保護装備と、オートバイに装備される安全装置が含まれます。乗員装備には一般にヘルメット、防護服、手袋、ブーツ、目の保護具があり、車両には現地法に応じて灯火、ブレーキ、ミラー、タイヤ、方向指示装置などが必要です。

Why is protective motorcycle clothing important?

Protective clothing can reduce injuries caused by impact, abrasion and contact with the road surface. Purpose-designed motorcycle clothing may also include impact protectors for vulnerable parts of the body.

Should motorcycle equipment be checked before every journey?

A brief check of the tyres, brakes, lights, controls, mirrors and general condition of the motorcycle can help identify problems before riding. Protective equipment should also be correctly fitted and in usable condition.
