A mailman, or postal worker, is a person who collects, transports or delivers letters, parcels and other postal items. Postal workers may travel on foot or use bicycles, vans, motorcycles or other vehicles while completing their delivery routes.
When working near roads, postal workers must follow the traffic rules that apply to pedestrians, cyclists or drivers according to how they are travelling. Other road users should take care where postal workers may frequently stop, cross the road or enter and leave vehicles.
