車両検査は、車両が安全で道路走行に適し、適用される技術・環境要件へ適合しているか確認する公的検査です。国・車種により、ブレーキ、タイヤ、操舵、サスペンション、灯火、排出ガス、車両識別などを確認します。検査規則と間隔は国によって異なり、定期検査に加え、大規模改造、事故、輸入、所有者変更後などに検査が必要な場合があります。
Is vehicle inspection mandatory in Belgium?
Yes. Vehicles that fall within the inspection requirements must undergo an official technical inspection. The rules are administered by the three Belgian regions: Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia, so some procedures and inspection intervals can differ between regions.
When does a passenger car need its first technical inspection in Belgium?
A normal passenger car generally needs its first periodic technical inspection when it reaches four years after its first registration.
How often do passenger cars need technical inspection in Flanders?
Since 1 September 2026, passenger cars generally have a two-year inspection period, subject to the applicable transitional and inspection-certificate conditions.
What is checked during the Belgian technical inspection?
