電動自転車（e-bike）は、走行中に利用者を補助する電動モーターを備えた自転車です。多くはペダルアシスト方式で、利用者がペダルをこぐ間にモーターが追加の力を提供します。
法的分類は、モーター出力、最大アシスト速度、ペダルをこがずにモーターだけで走行できるかなどで決まります。より高速または高出力の車両はモペッドなどの自動車に分類され、異なる免許、ヘルメット、登録、保険要件が適用される場合があります。

An electric bicycle is a bicycle equipped with an electric motor that provides assistance to the rider.
What is pedal assistance?

Is an electric bicycle still a bicycle?
