1. Coolant
Coolant (also known as antifreeze) is a liquid that helps regulate your engine’s temperature by absorbing heat and preventing the engine from overheating or freezing. It flows through the engine and radiator in a closed loop, keeping everything at the right operating temperature.
- The engine heats up as it runs.
- Coolant circulates through the engine, absorbing heat.
- Then it flows through the radiator, where it's cooled by air.
- The thermostat and water pump control the flow and temperature.
