178. Snowplough
A snowplough is a vehicle equipped with a blade or other device for removing snow from roads and other paved surfaces. Snowploughs may also carry equipment for spreading salt, grit or other materials intended to reduce ice and improve traction.
Drivers approaching or following a snowplough should reduce speed, keep a safe distance and avoid overtaking unless there is sufficient visibility and space. Snow, salt or other material discharged by the vehicle can reduce visibility and create additional hazards.
