158. Luces de cruce
Las luces de cruce son la configuración de corto alcance de los faros de un vehículo. Iluminan la carretera por delante dirigiendo la luz hacia abajo para reducir la posibilidad de deslumbrar a conductores y otros usuarios de la vía.
Normalmente se utilizan de noche, con mala visibilidad y siempre que las luces de carretera puedan deslumbrar a otro usuario. Proporcionan menos iluminación que las luces de carretera, pero son adecuadas para la conducción normal cuando hay tráfico cerca.
When must dipped beam be used in Belgium?
Dipped beam must be used when vehicle lighting is required and main beam may not be used. This includes situations where main beam could dazzle an approaching road user, when following another vehicle at less than 50 metres except while overtaking, and on a continuously well-lit road where the driver can see clearly for approximately 100 metres.
When must you switch from main beam to dipped beam in Belgium?
You must switch to dipped beam when approaching another road user who could be dazzled, when approaching a rail vehicle or boat whose operator could be dazzled, when following another vehicle at less than 50 metres except while overtaking, and on a sufficiently illuminated road where visibility is approximately 100 metres.
Must motorcycles use dipped beam during the day in Belgium?
Yes. Two-wheeled mopeds and motorcycles travelling on public roads must continuously use their dipped-beam headlight and red rear light, including during daytime. Main beam may not be used for this daytime-lighting requirement.
