1. Distraction

Distraction while driving is anything that takes your attention away from the road, even for a few seconds. It’s one of the leading causes of traffic accidents, because it reduces your ability to react quickly, make safe decisions, and stay in control of your vehicle. Distraction = danger. Even a few seconds of not paying attention can lead to a crash. Stay focused, stay alert, and always keep your hands, eyes, and mind on driving.

  • How to Stay Focused:
    • Put your phone away or use hands-free if necessary.
    • Set GPS and music before you start driving.
    • Avoid multitasking behind the wheel.
    • Keep conversations calm and brief.
    • Pull over if you need to deal with anything urgent.
    • Stay mentally present—especially on familiar routes.
