1. Snow chains
Snow chains (also called tire chains) are devices made of metal links or cables that you wrap around your vehicle’s tires to provide extra traction when driving on snowy or icy roads. Some areas have “Chains Required” signs during storms. Not complying can result in fines or being turned around.
- Improve grip and prevent slipping on snow and ice.
- Help vehicles climb hills, brake, and steer in winter conditions.
- Often required by law in mountainous or snowy regions during bad weather.
