1. Vehicle lights

Vehicle lights are systems on a vehicle used to illuminate the road and make the vehicle visible to others, ensuring safe driving in all conditions. They are essential for visibility, communication, and signaling intentions, especially in darkness or poor weather.

  • Headlights (Low Beam): Used for normal night driving and poor visibility.
  • High Beam (Main Beam): Used on dark roads without traffic → must be switched off when approaching others.
  • Position Lights (Parking Lights): Make the vehicle visible when parked → not sufficient for driving.
  • Tail Lights: Red lights at the rear → show your presence to vehicles behind.
  • Brake Lights: Activate when braking → warn following drivers.
  • Indicators (Turn Signals): Show direction changes (turning, lane changes).
  • Fog Lights: Front: improve visibility in fog/heavy rain. Rear: very bright → used only in seriously reduced visibility.
  • Hazard Warning Lights: All indicators flash → warn of danger or obstruction.
  • Daytime Running Lights (DRL): Improve visibility during the day → do not replace headlights at night.
