1. Rumble strip

A rumble strip is a series of small, raised bumps or grooves on the road that create vibration and noise when a vehicle drives over them. They’re designed to alert drivers that they’re leaving their lane or approaching something important. They reduce accidents caused by drowsy or inattentive driving.

  • Road edges or centerlines (to prevent lane drifting).
  • Before intersections or stop signs.
  • Approaching toll booths or sharp curves.
  • Work zones or school zones.
