Handsfree refers to devices or systems that allow you to use a phone or perform tasks without using your hands, especially while driving. The goal is to help you stay focused on the road and reduce distractions. Even with handsfree devices, it's safest to limit phone use while driving. Cognitive distraction (your brain focusing on the conversation) can still affect reaction time.
- Helps reduce manual distractions (like holding a phone).
- Often required by law—many places ban handheld phone use but allow handsfree use.
- Still requires attention! “Handsfree” doesn’t mean distraction-free.
